This Year's Model Updates:

Power-adjustable pedals, a DVD-based navigation system, automatically locking doors and XM Satellite Radio are new options this year. Additionally, the instrument panel now sports a freshened monochromatic look. The North Face Edition package gets unique 17-inch wheels standard, while LT models get a new optional 17-inch wheel design.

Pros:
  • Class-leading engine power, soft highway ride, room for seven, extensive features list, simple controls.
Cons:
  • Skittish handling around corners, numb steering, generic interior design, low-grade interior materials.

  • Dont buy a 2003 or 2004 model!!!!! - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT

Chevy has a problem with the cluster panel in the 2003 and 2004 models. They do not stand behind their work and are not willing to do anything about it. My dealer replaces 1 or 2 a month....this is a serious problem and not just with the Trailblazer, but ALL makes and models of Chevys. GM needs to find a way to keep their loyal customers happy. (GM owner since the early 80s).

  • Nice SUV, Poor Quality - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT

Nice SUV, but test the hvac in the rear before taking it. Heating for the 2nd and 3rd row passengers that come from the roof blows out cold air only. Took back to the dealer twice. 1st time they said GM is aware if it and they are working on a fix. 2nd time, GM told they had a fix and to bring it back. Dealer measured the heat from the floor to the vents and there is a 30 degree difference. GM said that is acceptable. I have contacted the BBB auto line to get an arbitrator involved. Also, my truck was delivered missing 2 quarts of oil from the factory. Oh yeah, GM customer is a joke. Dont waist your time.

  • Forget the Ford - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT

Current incentives make the 04 Trailblazer cheaper than a stripped Explorer. If you are considering an Explorer, drive the chevy first. The Explorer feels like an Escort on stilts while the Trailblazer feels like a Caddy on steriods. The EXT also has a real 3rd seat instead of the padded cargo deck Ford tries to pass as a 3rd seat.

  • Fun Ride - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT

My Trailblazer is an excellent ride that I feel has excellent handeling and is very fun to drive. I told myself I would never own another Chevy after my 85 Camaro. My LT Trailblazer is a very well built machine that I wont be trading in any time soon.

We needed to seat at least 7 passengers but wanted to get out of our minivan. we researched and drove several suv type vehicles from mini to full sized fairly priced to over priced and found the trailblazer to give us more bang for our buck. Our kids love the look and space that they have (we love that too ;-) ). We have 3 children aged 3 to 11 and they have all the elbow room they need. The ride is smooth for a mid sized truck honestly it may even be nicer than the vans ride was. For the money this is a great vehicle.

  • Having some recent problems - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT

My trailblazer ext is nice but I am having recent problems with the computer system. I have had it in the shop 2 times in one month. I am starting to become untrusting and not sure when the next breakdown will occur. With a family this is a concern.

Overall we like it, it fells like it could drive through anything even a wall. I find the passenger legroom to be wanting as my legs are forced of to the right. The engine sounds great but I wished it had more legroom. The interior quality seems nice and user friendly. It is not necessarily fun to drive but delivers the comfort and safety features well suited to a family SUV. I think that it is overpriced when compared to some Japenese vehicles but my wife was set on this one.

Couldnt ask for more for your money and the best part is that it is American made!!!!!Not some car company overseas!

  • Ugly Duckling Turns Out to be Swan - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT

Too bad GM made this quintessential wagon so ugly on the outside (typical of their afterthought stretch versions) and has now decided to kill it. This vehicle does everything in great comfort and reasonable economy (14-18 with V8 4wd 3.73 axle). I have The North Face edition with two-tone paint (looks much better). Dont worry about wind noise from roof rack- just move back front crossbar (like it says in the owners manual). This ones a keeper!

  • I LOVE my truck! - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT
    By -

I replaced a 1996 Safari with this vehicle. I like the room, the handling, the power. For the cost, its hands down better than my van ever was. It has more than enough power for merging onto our traffic clogged interstate, yet with the windows up, it blocks out all the road noise. The visibility is excellent. All in all, I LOVE my truck!
